Code of Ethics. How we do business.

WeatherAlpha strives to be an exemplary company in every respect.  We consider our reputation for integrity, trust, and honesty key to our business success and our principal value to our clients.

Our reputation depends upon us making the right ethical decisions every day.  It may not always be the easiest or appear to be the most profitable decision.  However, we believe making the right ethical choice is in the best long-term interests of WeatherAlpha, our clients, our partners, and our employees.

Our Code of Ethics is a guide to help us make the right decisions, and assures our clients that WeatherAlpha is committed to meeting these standards.  All WeatherAlpha members and staff publicly subscribe to this Code of Ethics.

CLIENTS

  • We serve our clients with integrity, competence, transparency, and objectivity.
  • We keep client information confidential and will use proprietary client information only with the client’s permission.
  • We do not take advantage of confidential client information for ourselves.
  • Before undertaking an engagement, we disclose to our clients — prospective or existing — any conflicts of interest whereby our knowledge of specific client actions and information risks compromising their success.

INDUSTRY

  • We respect the intellectual property rights of our clients and other companies and will not use proprietary information or methodologies without permission.
  • We do not advertise our products and services in a deceptive manner.

ENGAGEMENTS

  • We assign staff to client engagements in accord with their experience, knowledge, and expertise.
  • We immediately acknowledge any influences on our objectivity to our clients and will offer to withdraw from an engagement when our objectivity or integrity may be impaired.

FEES

  • We agree in advance with our clients on our fees and expenses, and we charge fees and expenses that are reasonable, legitimate, and commensurate with the products and services we deliver and the responsibility we accept.
  • We disclose to our clients in advance any fees or commissions that we expect to receive for equipment, supplies, or services we recommend to our clients.
